The Power of a Decision

Have you ever been in a situation where you were unsure of what to do next? Have you found yourself wondering if you should maintain the status quo, or make a change? This relates to so many areas of your life, such as making a decision about what car you drive, your relationships, your job, a new career, early retirement, where you live, or even the style and colour of your hair.

Consider All Of Your Options

In any of the above situations, of course we need to consider our options. We don’t ever really seriously do that however, until we’ve made a conscious decision to explore the options before us. If we decide to buy a new car we consider a range of things before we’ll do the deal. We think about things like the make, model, colour, and price and also when we will make the purchase. When looking for a job, we need to know why, what, where and for how long we want to work. The process of making a decision leads to asking ourselves a series of further questions that ultimately bring us to the point of choosing what action we will take next. Without that initial decision, we tend to continue on our merry way, and nothing changes.

Many Reasons Why It Is Important to Make a Decision

We make decisions in life for many reasons. We might need more money or a bigger house, our career ambitions or boredom at work. Maybe strained or broken relationships, or perceived failure. Could also be your need for challenge, or in response to our family’s needs, health issues, our interests and passions.

A Life of No Regrets

Generally speaking, we tend to be creatures of habit, and we tend to resist change because it takes us out of our comfort zone. Yet in resisting change, we deny ourselves the opportunity to experience new things, overcome our fears, and to find out what we are truly capable of. One day we will wake up to find that there isn’t any time left to be able to do all the things we’ve always wanted to do. The power of a decision gives us the opportunity to make sure that we live a life of no regrets. What decisions do you need to make today….
